a lovely evening walk/jog/run 🏃🏼♀️
I mixed up sprints with either a jog or a fast walk depending on how out of breath I was 😛 (mostly walks😂)
Managed to do 40 minutes and it was so good to get outside!! Perfect temperature 🌞
I feel that I haven't really felt in a good exercise frame of mind or had the motivation/commitment to consistently workout for the last couple of months but I finally feel like I'm getting that drive back and it feels awesomeeeeeee 😀
I hope you're all having or have had an awesome day 😘❤️

How cool is nature? I love being outside and I love exercise so when you combine the two, I am one happy girl! Hiked over 2 hours today with a good friend at Starved Rock and it was so cool to see all the different rock formations that had evolved as a result of glaciers melting hundreds of years ago! It was over 90 degrees so we definitely worked up a sweat and an appetite! We stopped and ate tasty sandwiches on a rock overlooking the river. Sometimes I feel like my heart belongs in the mountains somewhere where I could hike all the time and spend more time outside year round. All my California people-I'm jealous!😉
Bending so I don't break! 🤸🏻♀️❤️ My body is feeling sore after amping up my mileage and running outdoors. Ran 3 miles on the @alterginc today, but I really had to push myself to finish. It's crazy to think that last year, I'd run 5+ miles multiple times a week without an issue. Must keep reminding myself to take it slow and gradually increase my mileage and speed. Slow and steady wins the race! 🏃🏻♀️💪🏼
Do we all take the time to think about how lucky we are, the opportunities that we're given, and the life we get to live?
I struggle with this a lot, I'm willing to admit. Getting caught up in my day to day life, being so focused on the future I forget to take the time and think how amazing life is NOW. I often forget how much more I have been blessed with, and for all of us it's not something to be taken advantage of. There's been something on my mind especially this week and I wanted to go ahead and share my thoughts about it:
Incase you haven't heard, this 22 year old American student was detained in North Korea in January 2016, and was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor. I'm not going to go into details because I think you should look up the news story for yourself. It's heartbreaking and sad. Anyway, he passed away the other day and my mind wanders how someone can go through something like that so terrible? Or how can God allow this fate for someone my age?
No, I don't know this kid at all. My heart just grieves for him because no matter what I go through in life personally, it will not be worse than that. Can you imagine everything awful they did to him over there? It makes me so sick.
With that being said, as I was suffering on the treadmill today at OTF, I kept trying to find a reason to hold the same pace, or to increase speed, no matter how much I wanted to pull back. That's when I thought of Otto, that running fast on a treadmill is NOTHING compared to his detainment in North Korea. That's when I increased speed the last two minutes and ran for Otto, knowing he'll never get an opportunity to live and breathe this air ever again. He didn't have a chance. So I pushed, hard.
My motivation usually for not giving up when I want to is going hard for those who can't. My mom is a perfect example during this time last year when she went through chemo, you push hard for those who can't. I find that motivation so special and endearing.
I hope you'll take this post and realize that you have something someone doesn't have. Be grateful, happy, and appreciate the blessed and beautiful life we live. ❤️

The lighting in my gym leaves something to be desired... but, regardless, finished bbg week 13 arms today. I'm kinda fitting in bbg workouts whenever, since I also try to get to 2 crossfit classes a week and do some yoga and swimming when I get a chance a well, but it's fun to revisit all those pushups from time to time too, right? Also wearing my @fourathletics cropped leggings, because, duh.
It's been roughly 7 months in between these photos 💪🏼 The girl on the left hated food and was always wanting to lose weight. If you ever told her that one day she'd be working out 5 days a week to become strong + to gain weight...she never would have believed you 😂🤷🏻♀️All progress so far credited to @kayla_itsines BBG program + weights :)
✨✖️Currentky taking a little break after having to spend my afternoons taking chemistry quizzes. I am totally not in the school flow this semester 😆. It is almost over though ✌🏻.
Entrain de faire une petite pause après avoir passer les deux dernières après-midi à passer des tests en chimie. Je suis totalement à la ramasse ce semestre 😆. Heureusement c'est bientôt finit ✌🏻.✖️✨

Today is a come home from work & immediately change out of your work clothes. My husband had an old college tshirt & gym shorts laying on the bed, so I put them on. Anyone else love wearing their significant other's clothes?! 🙋🏼||
Last @terraskitchen meal for the week, power bowl [+ one of my homemade turkey feta burgers] Roasted kale + crispy chickpeas + sweet potatoes with a creamy vegan dressing made with cannellini beans. For sure I'll recreate! Enjoying a cold pressed watermelon lemon cucumber @drinkwelo probiotic drink, perfect for this hot day! 🍉🍋🥒
Took me time to share some progress photos. But here they are ☺. Encountered a few weeks of transition during the last two months: jetlag, new sleeping schedule, walking commute to the gym, different foods, etc. BUT, what stayed consistent is my effort to keep at it. Happy with the progress so far ! Keep reminding myself, this is a lifestyle and not a quick fix! One year later, I am sure I'll look back and be even more amazed. Staying the course ☝. Thanks Kayla!
So today I didn't really do anything healthy or fitnessy, and didn't do anything worth photographing so I didn't really know what to post. So I was going through my pictures from the other day at the gym trying to find a picture I could use, and I came across this one ☝️. I remember when I took it, I instantly looked at my hip dips and instantly dismissed the picture, thinking I hated the way I looked.
This picture has no filters or cropping, it's completely #unguardedandunbothered .
So anyway, I was looking through my pictures today and I saw this, and was like "woah my arms have leaned out loads, and I am loving my back muscles" and I didn't hate the picture nearly as much as I did before.
And it got me thinking about how our perception of the way we look and see ourselves changes daily. When we over-analyse our pictures and look at them from a critical perspective, we see them completely differently to how we see them when we are in a more positive mindset.
I think this is a really important thing to bare in mind, so I just thought I'd share as it's I think it's important to remember how much our self perception can change from day to day ❤️.
I just have hit low when I allowed a microwaved Indian for dinner (reduced!)... it doesn't even look nice!! I am exhausted, got home late after few drinks and going food shopping... I am sorry guys but this reality.
Thankfully I am meeting @trainersoverslippers tomorrow for an early @barryslondon session!!
TONIGHT'S DINNER: Tuscan sausage wraps and spinach from @hellofreshuk
THIS TASTED BOMB AF
But... today I have gone over my macros.... not by a huge amount, not because I binged on sweets or cake, just because I've been hungry and I've snacked quite a bit (healthy ish snacks) and my lunch wasn't the most nutritional (quick costa wrap, had to work extra hours at work last minute). Is this ok? YES. Normally I eat pretty well, hit my macros within around 10g. Is one day of going over going to ruin all my progress? NO IT IS NOT.
It can be a hard thing to overcome when you set yourself a goal and don't meet it. You feel like you've let yourself down and should feel bad. This is so so wrong! Consistency is key, and everything can be enjoyed in moderation! One day off track isn't going to send things spiralling out of control.
Am I going to now go to the gym and run for half an hour on the treadmill to burn off those extra few hundred calories? Nope. What am I going to do? I'm going to go to bed, wake up tomorrow and start on a fresh page.
Tomorrow is a new day to reach my goals.
Quick, easy, and filling snack before heading out to dinner later tonight! The hanger was real and let's be honest, I usually can't be bothered with anything that takes more than 5 minutes. #getinmybelly#notachef Hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday!
#whatsonmyplate (1 piece @brownberrybread , deli turkey, deli ham, 1 egg, side of strawberries)
Yeah babe!💪🏼 Today's workout was so intense, but I loved every minute of it! As the final core exercises I did swiss ball crunches and side crunches for the first time and oh my! My abs have never burned that much🔥🔥🔥 Definitely try them if you can get your hands on a swiss ball. I only did one set of 30 reps for each exercise (crunches, side crunches left, side crunches right) and that was more than enough. I'm sure I'll be feeling that tomorrow. I'm also finally starting to practice chin-ups/pull-ups. Been wanting to get into them ever since I saw a video of @kayla_itsines doing them about two years ago to the song Do It Now by Mashd N Kutcher. One day I'll be posting a video like that😏 Do you have a specific fitness or health goal like that?😘💗😘
when the salmon is practically falling out of the bowl you know it's a good day🤤🙌🏻 baked some of @shutthekaleup 's zucchini chips and they are killer!! also finally got some probiotic sauerkraut and it's super yummy and such a bonus that it is a probiotic!!💪🏻 Love having bowls full of a bunch of random veggies😝 What's in my bowl: Salmon, romaine lettuce with olive oil and apple cider vinegar, tomatoes, broccoli, sweet potato and zucchini chips, sauerkraut, and @hopefoods hummus👌🏼✨
