I am currently learning how to build a groceries list in Ruby! So far so good no troubles of following the syntax yet. Something about sitting at my computer and writing some code is empowering. Being able to create simple things that users take for granted. I use use technology and never think how was this built just only knowing how I can use it to benefit me. But every time I use new technology I think to myself who built this, how could they have built this and who came up with it. It's awesome being the creator sometimes then just the user!
Spending some time this afternoon carving the puzzles into the sides of the boxes. So nice to have #cnc to do this. These will get cleaned up, shellaced, the carving painted and then sanded off again. Don't you wish you knew what was on those strips on the top? And then much more after that! #puzzlebox#woodworking#cryptic#code#carving
Does anyone else struggle to balance work and learning a new skill? I started this account to keep me motivated to learn web design, coding and whatever else I wanted to start working on. But between work (starting a new job), life (how is it the kitchen doesn't clean itself!?) and all those other random things that come up I feel like I haven't made the progress I expected...
So what do you do? How do you balance your 8-5 and life with learning a new skill? I'm looking for a little learning pick me up so thank you for your suggestions!!! •
And this is half of my Friday #ootd . Who says you can't weather leather in 100 degree heat? 🕶💁🏼👡
