Dernière target de nos Vacances le magnifique requin renard, visible sur l'île de gato. Ces requins viennent sur des "station de nettoyage " ou pleins de petits poissons viennent les débarrasser de tous les parasites et peaux mortes. (Oui oui je parle sous l'eau 🔈😂) amazing moment with #treshershark in #philippines -absolutlety fantastic time ❤️
I was lucky enough to spot this Banded Sea Snake in Thailand on a dive right after hearing about how extremely poisonous they are ("If you get bit, go ahead and surface and crack open a beer, cuz it'll be your last!" 😜) Even having just learned this, I was of course drawn to this guy and how effortlessly he moved through the water. Plus, it was my first time seeing a snake while diving, so I HAD to check him out. As always, he was not at all as interested in me as I was in him as long as I gave him the respect and space that he deserved. Such a cool experience meeting this guy! 🐍❤️
@vividsydney at @tarongazoo opens tonight! For the past few months I've been working on the design and signage for the event and I'm stoked to see it up all over the place. The lights are absolutely amazing (espesh the giant PJ Shark you can walk through), it's definitely worth a peek. #vividtaronga#vividsydney#tarongazoo
Here's looking at you!
A toast to the ocean.
These old wives and the marble fish took quite an interest in me as I paused at 5-6m deep at the reef.
By moving slowly and predictably or not at all, your silent presence as a freediver ignites their interest.
Body language and behaviour dictate how the fish respond to your presence. You know you're at one with the abyss when they swim up to you and look you straight in the eye.
Snapped on a @nikon AW130 compact underwater camera in southern Port Phillip Bay. An ideal portable camera for capturing the memories.
In just over a week and a half, NinetyFive Percent Two will come to life. Join us on our opening night on the 8th of June to celebrate our oceans and learn what we can do to help protect them. Beautiful video by our partners @kayapacs #MyPromiseToTheOcean#NinetyFivePercent
A big shark that can reach 10'. An identifying character of this species is its tall first dorsal fin, which has a slightly rounded tip and originates over the rear tips of the pectoral fins, which are long as well. It can be hard to distinguish the galapagos from the grey reef and dusky shark. But paying attention to fin shape and length makes it easy! Easily the cutest, fluffiest snack a great white shark could ever hope for - yet sadly there aren't many of these squidgy buggers left!⠀
The Australian sea lion (Neophoca cinerea) is one of the most endangered pinnipeds in the world...we're talking only up to 12,000 individuals left. They were hunted heavily a hundred years ago, but despite being pretty thoroughly protected for decades, their numbers are still periodically falling. ⠀
Research is showing massive fluctuations in how many pups are surviving each breeding season. Aggressive adults killing pups, as well as food shortages are all possibilities - but ultimately no one really knows what's causing so many of these fuzzy shark-sausages to die off in their first year of life.
Whilst actively swimming around in search for food and friends, turtles need to take a breath roughly every half hour. Intriguingly, some species of turtle are able to 'breathe through their butt', getting 70% of their oxygen needs through their cloaca (that's a fancy name for their rear orifice). However, is a this Green Turtle can't do bum breathing, preferring the old fashioned way...

Where have all the internal organs gone to?
It's almost nothing inside but it lives?
What's the logic to this? It's a brilliant creation.
Human can't #design this, they cant even create a fly.
Then who? 🌊 @roamtheoceans
It's the Leptocephalus
Leptocephalus is the flat and transparent larva of the eel, marine eels, and other members of the superorder Elopomorpha. This is one of the most diverse groups of teleosts, containing 801 species in 24 orders, 24 families, and 156 genera.
