I got to merge my two favorite things in a paper for school: art history and reading. I'm nearing the end of my intro to medieval art class and I was able to do my work on The Ellesmere Chaucer that they have on display at the Huntington Library. It's a beautiful copy and I finally got to read a little bit of The Canterbury Tales to help myself out with the paper. That class also really helped me understand little snippets of the story that I might not have been able to piece together otherwise. I think during the summer I'm going to just read the whole thing! 👑🐎
I'm going to make 3 points about this book:
1. The secret is out #israelis and #palestinians love each other in #brooklyn I'm not entirely sure why. But it's a fact!
2. I'm a librarian so of course I'm against any #bookcensorship regarding this book. I get it if you're against something you've read in the media. BUT if you've in any way liked any of my previous posts, trust me on this and read #alltherivers . At least read the last 2 chapters. They will touch your soul.
3. Throughout the book there's an underlying truth here: your happiness and joys and those of whom you love and those in your own group are intrinsically and completely dependent on the happiness and joys of those you consider the other. And the more you deny, ignore this, the bigger the explosion of bullshit and hate will be at the end. After all the distance between Tel Aviv and Ramallah is only 65km... #highlyrecommended#israeliliterature#rabinyan#doritrabinyan#newyork#telaviv#ramallah#israel#palestine#forbiddenlove @randomhouse @doritrabinyan #גדרחיה#רביניאן#תלאביב#רמאללה#ברוקלין
I started this beautiful book today and I already can't stop telling everyone about it 🖤 I'm excited to see how this story develops but also nervous that I'm going to be an emotional wreck once it's done..
"Violet" - a passage from my Southern Gothic in perpetual progress- is on the blog (link in bio). I'd absolutely love to hear your feedback, seeing as how you're a master of reading and what not! #aspiringnovelist#literaryfiction
"You all want to be the hero in the film who runs away in slo-mo from the villain’s factory that he’s just mined, throwing himself to the ground as it explodes. But the explosion’s taking place already — it’s always been taking place. You just didn’t notice..."

It's Sadie Hawkins Dance Day for the His Prompts of #CircleOfBookishFriends AND it's the birthday of the Circle's Founder @sadie_reads_them_all ! So in honor of this I'm featuring a book from my shelf that I think she would have picked out! We all know Sadie LOVES the King, but if you follow her you also know how much she loves Chuck Wendig's works!
Blackbirds kicks off the tale of Miriam Black who is an amazing young lady with a difficult gift/curse, and a difficult life. She is more than just a survivor though, and when life strikes at her, she shoots life the bird and strikes back! Miriam is truly an excellent character with a hell of a story to tell.
Happy Birthday Sadie! Thank you so much for being awesome, for all you do for our community, and for being a true friend. 😊
This is one of my faaaaaavourite short story collections. I've posted about @blackholly before but geez you guys I just never get over her! She is such a dark and magical writer. I think my favourite story in this is The Coat of Stars, but I also loooove A Reversal of Fortune. Gah, I love all of them, who am I kidding. ✨👑🦋🍀
Happy Memorial Day my fellow Americans! Hope your day was filled with cookouts, trips to the pool and fireworks ❤️💙 I unfortunately spent my day working on school work that I procrastinated doing for entirely too long!! I am also really getting into The Assassins Blade and am really enjoying it even though I don't normally like novellas! If you could bring any book character to life who would it be and why? •

Quick post for Day 29 May: #grimdragon - “I really only listen to like, German death reggae & Halloween sound effect records from the 1950s” - books & music. It’s been a while since my childhood violin made an appearance. I’m looking forward to reading This Savage Song in a couple of weeks. The sequel, Our Dark Duet, is out June 13th! I’m curious to see how V’s young adult books compare to her adult releases.
Wrap up from Day 4 of Phoenix Comicon. I can easily report that everyone was exhausted. The authors were exhausted. I was exhausted. Attendees were exhausted. Four days of talking and performing and sitting on those chairs all day. Ouch.
My recollected highlights:
- got to meet my #bookreadhappyhour challenge co-quoter, the amazing @bookish_bluebird, and her husband, who found me my Sirius Black funko for so cheap!!
- Warriors: Kicking ass and taking names with Robin Hobb, Bradley Beaulieu, Brian Mcclellan and Terry Brooks was ridiculously interesting. ⚔️
- Victoria Schwab read one of her stories to us from the special ed of ADSOM out on Halloween. I just pre-ordered it for my birthday. I could listen to V talk all day. 🖤
- I skipped my last session and instead futzed about with my manuscript in the hotel restaurant and actually ate a meal. It was glorious. 🥘
- My flight back included such famous people as Karen Gillan and Ryan Hurst. 👍🏼
The end. Until next year!
Can you believe I never read The Cursed Child?!
I know everyone said it sucks... so I never bought it, and now I managed to borrow a copy from my bf, so I'm hoping to read it next month. Curiosity killed the cat. Haha! 😅
The gorgeous candle is from @lemoncakescandleco! Its supposed to smell like storm clouds! Idk how that's supposed to smell, but it definitely makes you feel like its a cloudy, relaxing, rainy day. 😍☔️ You can use code SERIALREP10 for 10% off!

The most interesting thing about Melbourne is how we can experience all four seasons of weather in the space of like four minutes 😂 today is definitely no exception! It was pouring as I snapped this picture and now it's sunny hahaha
This kind of weather has me yearning for a peppermint tea and rugging up in cosy clothes and bed socks 💕 what about everyone else? Do you all prefer the colder climates or the warmer ones?
🔸 A filha perdida | Publicação @intrinseca 🔸 #ResenhasDaEdi
⠀ ⠀ ⠀
❝Às vezes precisamos fugir para não morrer.❞

I've spent most of the weekend outside (golfing twice plus a BBQ today) so this is the closest I'm getting to socks for a #socksunday post--while trying to choose my next book to read. Am I the only one who has so many books on the old TBR pile that I have trouble deciding what to read?
Finally remembered to do a #mapmonday post 😂 I absolutely love this ACOWAR pre-order map of Prythian, it's beautiful!
So after four days off I have to go back to work tomorrow and I hate it haha. But this weekend was fun and productive! Hope you all had a nice weekend as well ❤️
Happy Memorial Day everyone! I ended up not doing much today other than lazing around but I might do something productive with my time left today! I'm bummed that the Japanese course on Duolingo is only for IOS so it kind of put me in a bad mood 😕😕 it'll come out eventually!
My life is slowly getting back to normal now. What a week! I went to see Mumford & Sons with one of my best friends and we had a retirement in the family with a kick ass party to go along with it. More partying at my Mom's today and I was able to take some book pictures in her yard which I love! Check out my stories for a tour of the flowers!
Ur fave CONSISTENT CONTENT (AHAHAHA lmao) is back!!! Check out my video "The One Memory I Never Want to Forget" on #theonememoryofflorabanks !!!!! Can't wait for you guys to see it ((: lemme know the one memory YOU never want to forget in the comments!!! Xoxo 😘
Yo no lo he leído. Pero quiero. ¿Y tú?
