In this workshop we will learn basic practices used by botanical illustrators to create realistic descriptive drawings of plants in all stages of growth. These techniques first produce a descriptive structural drawing of a plant, then add color with colored pencil or watercolor pencil. We will draw plants in a few important plant families, focusing on under-
-standing the similarities within a plant family. Botanists often describe plant families with drawings rather than with paragraphs of detailed scientific language. For visual people, getting to know plant families with drawings is fun and empowering.
Yesterday I watched the movie, so I have just ordered the book.
Maybe, we - scientists and doctors are heroes or champions of humanity - but she is the Godess: she has shown us the mysteries of life by her death. Remember Henrietta Lacks the woman, who lived. The woman, who saved your life. #hela#henriettalacks#cellbiology#science#medicine

PRICEY HEALTH PLAN: Aussie taxpayers have spent up to $55k on a private think tank company to develop a hospital funding reform plan that was yesterday dumped by Health Minister Greg Hunt.
The radical funding model would have seen the subsidy for private health insurance booted and instead the gov pay 35% of all hospital treatment in both public and private hospitals, meaning health fund members would be hit up for massive bills when accessing services like dentistry, optometry and physio.
Hunt said the plan, instigated by former health minister Sussan Ley and pushed by health department chief Martin Bowles, “does not reflect Government policy” and that if it ever comes forward again, he will “reject it”. Reminder: In November ’15, it was revealed the plan would see the private health insurance subsidy abolished - saving the fed gov $6b.
Leaked documents presented at yesterday’s Senate Estimates show the payment would have resulted in a 5% cut to public hospital funding, because the fed gov currently pays 40% of their costs.
In the private system, it would mean the gov would step in for 35%, up from the current 26% and states would have to foot the bill for the other 65% of public hospital costs while individuals would have to pay the gap using the private system.
The consultancy taskforce is expected to complete its report to be handed over to the minister. If yesterday’s words are anything to go by, we’ve got a pretty good idea how that will go down.

Through landing consciously in the depths of our bodies we release natural movement which arises from inside. By inhabiting the living ‘land’ of our bodies, we find a ground of being and a resource of energy. When we are full and alive in ourselves, and when our circle is whole, we can connect creatively with the world around us and with the oasis within.
Surgeon holds and prepares a donated harvested kidney for transplantation!
Kidney transplants are the most common transplant operations, and are the best treatment option for an end-stage renal disease, in which kidney failure is so advanced that it cannot be reversed or treated with medications. The donor kidney has been chilling in an ice bath right before its preparation for transplantation.
Interesting fact is that the original kidneys are not usually removed unless they are causing severe problems such as uncontrollable high blood pressure, frequent kidney infections, or are greatly enlarged. They are essentially disconnected and then pushed into a safe spot in the body.
During the operation, the artery that carries blood to the kidney and the vein that carries blood away is surgically connected to the artery and vein already existing in the pelvis of the recipient. The ureter, the tube that carries urine from the kidney is connected to the bladder.
The transplanted kidney takes over the work of the two kidneys that failed, so patient no longer need dialysis, a mechanical process of cleaning the blood of waste products.

HSPUs, pull ups, burpees and presses made me a mess💩 I've attemted to transform into a representable human being before leaving to cardiology.
Wasn't 100% successful though😅.
Also really looking forward to having my hair chopped off this afternoon🙌.
