A page for one of the #getmessyartjournal#gmseasonofcolour prompts. This one was Splash of Colour. Neutral colors with a splash. My splash is pink. Of course I added words (a poem) and shapes, because I love them. Started and completed the page this morning during the #LDCC art block on Periscope.
"Colors turn to dark silhouettes.
Streetlights lit like candles high.
Girl, you're my Queen of Sunsets,
And I'm your King of the Sky.
Feeling of your body right,
You're blushing rose red hues.
Holding you throughout the night.
Moonlight bathing my white shoes.
Cruise control set to ninety-nine.
Drifting and coasting along the swerves.
With you in my lap, girl, you know you're mine.
Tracing my fingertips along your curves.
Song after song, our hearts sing along.
Our tongues too busy to speak.
Kissing as we drive all night long,
Your hand caressing my cold cheek."
My coffee thermos has driving anxiety and toddler tantrums every single time I am behind the wheel. I can't blame it, things (and people) full of caffeine shouldn't be confined to small spaces or cup holders.
Mama always taught me
to use my gift to sow a seed.
I'm a man with blades to not make my people bleed.
I use blades to make change
Not just to rearrange appearances here
But I set the atmosphere.
Like women, men have bad hair days that they would pay to go away and I'm not talking about just hair.
A hello, a conversation, and a haircut would lift a spirit for the rest of their day and even a week.
So I make sure I clean all of my clippers and increase my skills to further peaks
So I can help shape another human being rising to be unique.
